Here we read about the Apostle Paul coming to the city of Corinth. This large & prosperous town was being ruled by immorality & idolatry, with it seeping into the church that Paul had started there. To correct these problems, Paul wrote a letter to the Corinthian Christians discussing spiritual matters, like speaking in tongues & the rampant degradation of the city.
